Glimpse of Mega Lucky Draw 2016

The Interact Club @ The Galaxy School recently conducted a massive fundraising project across Rajkot city. 'The Mega Lucky Draw' was a 2-week long project with an aim to provide an excellent opportunity to the people of Rajkot. Through this lucky draw, the Interact Club aimed to create a corpus of funds which it would take help of for its future endeavors. Any person who availed a specific ticket to this draw was one of the many people who contributed towards a noble cause as well as bought their own luck to win big!
The Mega Lucky Draw features top-notch prizes which included a brand-new Royal Enfield, an iPhone 7, HP Laptops, Cameras, Power banks and 1000 exclusive gift hampers. These crowd-attracting prizes pulled in queues of people at our stall as ticket sales went over our expectations. Here are some statistics about the project:
Cost per ticket: Rs. 250
Total price of gifts: Rs. 700,000
Ticket sales: 8000
Total collection: Rs. 1,200,000
This was amazing! All these numbers crossed our expectations. Thanks to our city-wide promotion
through social-media, school notice boards and commercial banners, which aided our sales process.

Although conducting a draw seems fairly simple, at least that's what we thought; we soon realized the immense number of complications that arise when dealing with numbers at this scale. This whole
project was divided into different tasks which were handled by different allotted teams. The core committee dealt with getting sponsorship from our helpful sponsors and various other student-led
teams dealt with the organization at the Galaxy Bazaar 2016 (which provided a great platform to promote and sell our tickets).

Apart from administration and delegation of work, Interactors from the club engaged in activities like door-to-door marketing and sales, spreading the word through connections, managing and recording sold ticket information etc.
After a two-week long sales period, the draw was conducted on 16th October 2016 at the Galaxy Bazaar in front of the public of Rajkot. Ticket holder information was fed into a specialized draw software which itself gave out the lucky ticket numbers.

This long process would not be possible without our sponsors and partners. The club specially thanks the Rotary Club of Rajkot Greater, BAN Labs, JP Isckon Group and Rolex Bearings for supporting this venture.

Looking back at our journey, it was so much more than the two-weeks. The planning, organization and execution of this project took a lot of effort from Interactors and guiders. But, it was surely worth it. Not only does the massive collection amaze us, but the attitude of these people. They donated for something bigger than all of us: Our community. This very fact encourages the club to continue working and serving for the society.
