Parag Fatehpuria Arranged Duke of Edinburgh Trek to Leh
First of All I would like to thank Mr. Parag Fatehpuria The Leh trek trip was very adventurous and exciting to be a part of. The trek was well planned with appropriate measure of rigour mixed with leisure and rest time. The logistics, equipment and supply arrangements were adequate for a trip requiring such physical & mental stamina. The flight transit time, especially at Delhi airport could have been shortened if possible; however it depends also on how soon the registration process begins and is finished.
The arrangements pertaining to the camping equipment were also qualitative. The ground staff and handlers were very knowledgeable, well trained and were of timely assistance whenever and wherever required. Moreover there was seldom any doubt regarding our personal safety as well as about our personal luggage.
The hotel and other amenities throughout the trip were beyond what is normally provided by external tour operators. A trek involving lot of rigour every day is physically and mentally exhausting; the quality of food – in terms of taste as well as what is desired – thereby becomes very imperative. The team responsible for providing timely, tasty, adequate and healthy food throughout the trek was highly experienced and efficient, which helped make the trip more memorable.
Personally, this trip was a wonderful experience for me – it allowed me a break from the daily routines of day to day life; moreover, I was able to gauge my physical and mental endurance capabilities after a long time. The solitude and quiet also provided enough opportunities to introspect and reflect on various facets of life.
Having been on trekking camps earlier, I was immediately able to compare the quality and organization of the Leh trip – and at several points of time was amazed at the quality and precision of the various aspects of the hard work, planning and organization required of everyone involved.
The trip was surely demanding in terms of physical and mental strength; however it was made memorable due to the efforts of everyone involved in planning and organizing the trip as well as the time well spent with the entire team of teachers and students from TGES during the trek.
Many thanks to everyone involved in the whole planning and executing of the trip, especially Mr. Parag Fatehpuria, who carefully planned and organized the wonderful expedition.
